Getting Back to Normal

There are moments when we all need a bit of inspiration — especially during these unprecedented times.

For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been looking for just that. Last week, my 10 year old daughter created a message to motivate and inspire her classmates that I would like to share with you. At least for me, this was an incredibly powerful message. Especially now (as we start our ninth week in isolation) more than ever, we need to look forward not back, take control of what we can change, and let go of what we cannot.

"You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the end!"

As we slowly start to see restrictions loosen, and begin thinking about returning to the office and getting back in stride, we need to remain focused on where we need to go to get through this successfully. Some of us have already started preparing for this next phase. Many of you have taken the opportunity to learn and train with us, and I thank you for that (HighVail Training & Enablement). Others have used the time productively to reflect, energize and refocus, yet it is the path to the final destination that still remains unclear. Regardless of what the new ‘normal’ will look like, continuing to be connected with others, working with people you can trust and staying on top of things is now more critical than ever. Doing this alone can at times seem insurmountable. It is in times like these that we need to pull together. Those who embrace this idea will persevere and emerge stronger on the other end.

Stay connected, be focused, and let's go out of our way to help each other.

Last week was CMHA Mental Health Week. Every May for the last 66 years, Canadians have rallied around Mental Health during the first of week of May to raise awareness. This year the theme is “Social Connection”, and how it is important for mental health. The campaign this year calls for us to #GetReal about how we really feel, and that is what I’m aiming for here. I’m grateful for my friendships, my partnerships, my business relationships, and my family . I have a tremendous appreciation towards those who support me, and have helped me get to where I am because I know I couldn’t have done it alone. Knowing I’ve surrounded myself with people I can trust and always count on means the world to me and makes me feel like I can conquer anything. I would like to suggest to anyone reading this: do something that will help make someone else’s life better today. Every little action helps.

In due time, this virus will pass and business will be getting back to normal. When that time comes, we want to help you to be ready. We will be there with you side by side to support you and your business needs, regardless of what that may look like in the future. Our customers have come to rely on HighVail to be there all the time, especially now in these new and changing times. Let’s start where we are and change the end together.
