Laura Tsingos

Director, Operations

Laura’s IT career spans three decades – starting out as a Database Coordinator with Wood Gundy. From there, she went to the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE) for a very hands on role – migrating employees from dedicated word processors to a revolutionary, new technology: the personal computer.  The TSE was an exciting workplace filled with noisy, dynamic traders, tickertape and, at times, Laura herself – she was responsible for troubleshooting computer hardware in the middle of a chaotic trading floor.

Noticing that many in the workforce were struggling to master the latest software business solutions, she decided to launch her own training company. For two years, Laura taught DOS, Windows, word processing, database and spreadsheet applications to the employees of several Fortune 500 companies.

In the early 90’s, Laura shifted from training and supporting new technology users to work as an Office Manager within the IT industry. As one of the organization’s first employees, Laura has led operations since the dining room table start-up days to HighVail’s present location at Yonge and St. Clair in downtown Toronto. Finance and Human Resources are also among Laura’s portfolio of responsibilities.

She attended Ryerson University and Centennial College. Laura volunteers both as a minister and a helper on construction projects such as HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) installations. She also assists her husband Mike with running his electrical contracting company. In her spare time, Laura enjoys stepping up to home base and cracking a baseball bat.
